(Cincinnati, OH) - The Cincinnati Fire crew in College Hill was returning from an emergency run when they discovered smoke coming from the 4th floor of an apartment building on 1532 West Northbend just after 1 a.m. Sunday.
They immediately requested a one alarm response. When arriving on scene they were told by occupants that people were trapped on the 4th floor, this prompted the request for the 2nd alarm.
Fire lines were deployed into the building and a fire was located and extinguighed in a 4th floor apartment. They discovered there were no trapped occupants and all had self evacuated.
One man was displaced and is staying with family. The fire was caused by combustibles being too close the stove that was accidentally turned on.
Damage is estimated at $5,000.
