Flood Recovery Efforts in Cincinnati

( CINCINNATI, OH ) -- An emergency declaration has been made in the city of Cincinnati to speed up recovery efforts after recent floods. Right now, the city is still assessing damage and is in the process of cleaning up infrastructure such as roads. A temporary permit center has also been opened in an effort to expedite getting homes and businesses back up, operational, and inhabitable.

A debris removal team is mobilized and can be called for assistance. A hotline has been opened for anyone needing flood recovery assistance or information. You can call (513) 591-6000. A website has also been set up that will give out information on the recovery efforts as well as will allow Cincinnatians to report flood damage they need assistance with.

Mayor John Cranley is quick to point out that while damage has been bad and up to 13 people have been displaced, things are much better off than in the floods of 1997 and the city is much better prepared. Those displaced are currently working with the Red Cross.
