New Charges for Man Accused of Trying to Hire a Killer

( Clermont County ) - A man charged with assaulting and kidnapping his ex-girlfriend last month is now facing new charges for allegedly trying to hire someone to kill her.

45-Year-Old Robert Clowers of Batavia was indicted Thursday on two counts of conspiracy to commit murder. The Clermont County Sheriff says that Clowers tried to get help from a fellow inmate to kill the woman. Investigators say that inmate told corrections staff that he had been solicited. They do not believe Clowers tried to hire anyone else. He's now been moved to a part of the jail where he can't interact with anyone, and his telephone privileges are limited to just his attorney.
