Ohio Governor Speaks Out On Gun Control

(Columbus, OH)  --  Governor John Kasich [[ KAY-sick ]] wants Congress to do something about gun violence after the deadly school shooting in Florida this week.

Appearing on CNN's "State of the Union" yesterday, Kasich urged Congress to "wake up" and pass legislation for common sense gun laws. “Common-sense gun laws make sense,” Kasich said.

The Westerville Republican said people should not be able to buy a gun without going through a background check.

Last year, the Governor signed legislation into law that expanded the areas where concealed carry handguns are allowed including some colleges and day-care facility's that agree to comply with the legislation. The Law allowed business to continue to ban weapons inside their buildings but permit holders are allowed to keep them inside their vehicles.
