Fred Warmbier To Attend Olympic Opening Ceremony

(Washington, DC)  --  The father of Otto Warmbier will be making an appearance at the Winter Olympics in South Korea.

Fred Warmbier will reportedly be a guest of Vice President Mike Pence at the opening ceremonies in Pyeongchang.

An aide to the vice president says it's a political statement against the North Korean regime as it participates in the games with a unified Korean team.

Fred and Cindy Warmbier attended the State of the Union address in Washington as guests of  President Trump and first lady Melania Trump, where the president gave their son a moving tribute.

Otto Warmbier, 21, died last year in Cincinnati after being held captive in North Korea for 17 months.
