( Cincinnati ) - Ride Cincinnati, the annual cycling event that's been running for more than a decade, is looking to raise its profile and become the premier grassroots fundraising event in Cincinnati.
This year's ride is looking to raise $500,000 for research at the UC Health Barrett Cancer Center. The annual charity bike ride has generated nearly $3 million since it started in 2007. "This is the most important thing I've been involved with... in all my years in business," says John Barrett, the CEO of Western & Southern Financial Group, a longtime sponsor of the event.
Ride Cincinnati 2018 will be a weekend-long celebration, leading up to the actual ride on Sunday, June 10. There are a variety of new ride distances that start at 8 miles and go up to 100 miles around the Cincinnati area. Participants will get a fundraising toolkit this year, as riders are encouraged to dig into their communities to achieve new, individual fundraising goals.
