Apartment Fire Sends One To The Hospital

(700 WLW)- Firefighters were dispatched to the 2400 Harrison Avenue, Apt A8 for a report of a house on fire Wednesday night at around 830. Once at the Candlewood Apartments, a front third floor apartment was found on fire in a 3-story 12 Unit brick apartment building. There was one tenant trapped on the front outside balcony of the fire apartment. All other tenants in the building self evacuated. 

An aggressive interior attack brought the fire under control within 10 minutes. The tenant was sheltered in place on the balcony. The fire was contained to the one apartment and there was no other damage to any of other apartments in the building. The tenant was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

The Cincinnati Fire Department Fire Investigation Unit was on the scene investigating the cause of the fire. The blaze did about $15,000 in damage. The Red Cross was responding to assist with the displacement of 2 adults and 5 children from the fire apartment. All other tenants in the building were able to reoccupy their apartments following the fire. The Fire Department was on the scene for approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.
