Donald Gazaway Appears in Court

( HAMILTON, OH) -- Donald Gazaway, 31, appeared in court for his pretrial. Bond was already set at $1-million. Now, Detective Joe Nerlinger appeared on the stand to clarify the charges to Gazaway. Gazaway is accused of holding Sincere Trammell, 10, hostage for 30 hours in a Liberty Township apartment complex.

Gazaway is now charged with kidnapping, felonious assault, and inducing panic. Detective Nerlinger says that there was an altercation at the apartment between Gazaway and the mother of Trammell, she ran from the apartment, and called 9-1-1 at another home. Nerlinger says Trammell's mother had injuries to her head that looked as though she was "pistol whipped".

Detective Nerlinger confirmed that multiple weapons and unused ammo were recovered from Gazaway at the scene. He says that Sincere Trammell could be heard, at one point, crying and shouting that he wanted to be let go.

Gazaway will now face a grand jury next month.
