Supreme Court To Hear Ohio Voter Purge Case

(Washington, DC)  --  Ohio's practice of purging inactive voters is going before the U.S. Supreme Court. The justices are hearing arguments today on whether the purge is legal or is warmed-over voter suppression.

State officials are under fire from civil rights groups over the practice of removing people who missed two years of elections from the voting rolls.

A ruling could possibly pave the way for other states to adopt Ohio's purging practice, which generally pits Democrats against Republicans. The Trump Administration have expressed support in Ohio's method for pruning its voter rolls.
