( Boone County, Kentucky ) - Eight people were hurt after a crash between a semi-truck and two Greyhound buses on Thursday morning.
A statement from the Boone County Sheriff says the dispatch center had received a call for help from Greyhound just before 5:30am because two buses were on the side of Interstate 71 north of Verona. One bus had mechanical problems and passengers were being transferred onto the second bus when a semi-truck allegedly side-swiped both buses.
Emergency medical crews from Walton, Verona, Union, Florence, and Independence, Kentucky, all responded to the scene.
The statement says that as crews were dealing with that situation, there was a second crash in the backed up traffic. A truck hauling plate glass crashed into a stopped tanker truck, the cable barrier, another semi, and a van, scattering a pickup truck load of broken glass onto the highway.
There's no word from the sheriff if any charges will be filed.
