Homeowner Injured After Car Crashes Into Living Room

(Springfield Township, OH) - The Springfield Township Police Department report officers were dispatched for a Domestic Violence incident in the 10900 block of Birchridge Dr.  The officers cleared the incident and were in the process of charging Chaz Henry with domestic violence.  Henry was not on scene while officers were there talking with the victim.  

Shortly after leaving, the officers were dispatched back to the residence.  The victim stated that Henry was trying to kick in the door to make entry.  He then got into a car and fled the scene.  

The victim gave the vehicle description, which was then relayed to the officers.  Officers located the vehicle driving westbound on Roosevelt Ave. towards Hamilton Ave.  Henry did not wait for the officers to activate their lights and sirens before he accelerated at a high rate of speed then ran a red light at Hamilton Ave and continued westbound on Roosevelt Ave.  

Henry approached Pippin Rd. and traveled across the roadway where his vehicle entered into the house and came to rest inside the living room.  The homeowner of the house was in the living room and was struck by the vehicle. She suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Henry is being charged with Aggravated Vehicular Assault, Domestic Violence, OVI, and driving under a suspended license.
