(Cincinnati, OH) A public reception will be held in West Price Hill on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 4:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. for Cincinnati Elder High School teacher Mark Klusman. He suffered severe injuries when he was struck by a car December 9 in a hit-and-run accident on Warsaw Avenue while he was volunteering with a community clean-up group. He died from his injuries on December 26 at the age of 74.
The reception will be at the Schaeper Center/Elder H.S. at 3900 Vincent Ave.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass, Wednesday, January 3, 2018, 10 AM, St Monica-St George Church, Clifton. Burial will be private.
The family asks for no flowers. They ask that donations be made to the Mark Klusman Memorial Scholarship Fund at Elder HS, 3900 Vincent Ave, Cincinnati (45205) or St Monica-St George Church, 328 West McMillian St, Cincinnati (45219).
Klusman graduated from Elder High School in 1961 and had been a teacher at the all-male Catholic school for 51 years.
Meanwhile, the driver being charged in the deadly hit and run remains in jail. Kayla Wilson, 23, is due in Hamilton County court for a hearing January 9. Back on Friday, December 29 a judge raised her bond to $1 million dollars. She also pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated vehicular assault and failing to stop after an accident. Cincinnati police said she has never had a driver's license, but has been caught driving without a license at least four times including the day of the accident that eventually killed Klusman. Police investigators also report she had been smoking marijuana before driving the day of the accident.
