(Cincinnati) They're asking all eligible donors to please give immediately. The Hoxworth Blood Center says the holidays and cold weather have had a negative impact on the blood supply, putting the local inventory at risk of reaching a critically low level.
All blood types are needed, especially O positive, as well as platelets.
Cara Nicolas, Associate Public Information Officer with Hoxworth, says as of January 2nd, the blood center was only projected to receive 53% of its normal weekly donations in the coming week.
