Police See An Increase in Car Thefts During Cold Weather

(Cincinnati, OH)  --  Cincinnati residents are being reminded to never leave their cars running while unattended.

Police say the number of auto thefts rise when temperatures fall and crooks see an opportunity.

They've already investigated a half-dozen "warm-up thefts" this week in which the victim was warming up their vehicle when the thief drove off.  Police say never leave your vehicle unattended, as most states consider idling an automatic misdemeanor including Ohio.  The penalties vary from state to state.
