ORIGINAL STORY:
( Avondale ) - Cincinnati Police are trying to find the driver of a car that struck a pedestrian on Friday morning.

Just before 7am, police were called to the intersection of Reading Road and Hickman Avenue. They say a 55-year-old man was crossing Hickman in a crosswalk, when a black sedan turning from Reading struck him. Police say that car did not stop to check on his condition.

The man was knocked to the pavement, and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. A statement from the department says he's in critical condition.

Police say excessive speed does not appear to be a factor, but it's unknown at this time if the driver was impaired.
