Money Pledged For The Western Hills Viaduct

(Cincinnati, OH)  --  Cincinnati taxpayers will help fund construction of a new Western Hills Viaduct.  On Thursday, Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley pledged 33-million-dollars in city funds to match Hamilton County's share of construction costs and activate state and federal funding.

A $5 license plate fee approved in November will help pay for the county's share.

The price tag to replace the 84-year-old viaduct is 335-million-dollars.

The full amount need to fund the building of a new viaduct will take several years to obtain.

The bottom deck of the viaduct will be closed today Friday Dec. 15, and tomorrow Saturday Dec. 16, for inspections and maintenance.
