(700 WLW)- An Newport man is in custody and charged with murder in the death of taxi driver, David DePhillips. DePhillips was shot late Tuesday night and tried to drive away but ended up crashing in the 900 block of Washington Avenue in Newport. He later died at UC Medical Center. Police have arrested 20 year old Justin Russell as the shooter and saying the shooting resulted in a drug deal gone bad.
