(Cincinnati, Oh.)--The flu is hitting hard in Ohio. The state Department of Health reports that 257 people have been hospitalized with the flu since early October, which is a jump of more than 300-percent from last year.
Several Ohio counties are seeing similar increases with hospitalizations and emergency room visits related to the flu.
The Centers for Disease Control report widespread flu activity in multiple states with over 10,000 confirmed cases nationwide.
