Activists Want Marijuana Legalization Referendum On 2018 Ballot

(Columbus, OH)  --  A new effort is being made to legalize recreational marijuana in Ohio.

Activists who tried to legalize pot in 2015 plan on proposing a referendum for the 2018 ballot on Monday.

Green Light Acquisitions led by Jimmy Gould, raised more than 30 million to get recreational marijuana legalization in Ohio passed in 2015 but voters rejected the idea.

Gould's team will now be leading an effort for a new Constitutional Amendment next year.

It would be called the 2018 Free Market Adult Consumption Marijuana ballot issue.

A press conference is set for this morning in Columbus, where more details are expected to be revealed.
