(Cincinnati, OH) - The Cincinnati Fire Department reports one person is dead and another injured in a house fire in Carthage early Sunday morning.
Firefighters were called out to 116 W. 65th St. at around 3:30 a.m. and found heavy smoke and fire conditions in a two story with an attic, wood framed single family dwelling. Fire crews made an aggressive interior attack on the fire and were able to rescue an elderly man they found unconscious from the residence; however, he died from his injuries after arriving at the hospital. His adult daughter suffered some burn injuries after fleeing the burning home.
Fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire. Damage is estimated at $80,000, making it a total loss.
