( Cincinnati ) - Police say nearly three dozen charges have been filed against six suspects in a fraud investigation that dates back to last year.
A statement from the department says a person filed an identity fraud report in October, 2016. Investigators say that led them to find six suspects who had filed false documents with the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts, the county auditor, and the county recorder allegedly "with the purpose to retain real estate illegally throughout Hamilton County."
Police say the suspects went after both residential and commercial properties that were either in foreclosure or simply being rehabbed. Ten properties have been identified so far.
Police say Jelani Khamisi, Mariah McCollum, and Monai Brown (pictured in the gallery above) have already been arrested.

- 29-year-old Ayinde Khamisi
