( Hamilton, Ohio ) - Another suspect charged in a drive-by shooting in broad daylight last year has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.
24-Year-Old Tony Patete (pictured) took a plea deal Monday in Butler County. He admitted to shooting and killing Orlando Gilbert and Todd Berus as they sat in a car on Central Ave in Hamilton in broad daylight on August 3, 2016. Prosecutors say Patete was hired to kill Gilbert in retaliation for his alleged involvement in a shootout at a Hamilton a few days before that killed one and wounded seven. Investigators believe Berus was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Another suspect in the case is already serving a life sentence, and a third suspect will start serving 30 to life after she testifies against the man accused of hiring them.
