Walethub's latest survey looks at the best places for scoring Black Friday deals. The website has named Kohl’s, JCPenney and Belk are 2017’s Best Stores for Black Friday, offering an average discount of at least 62.8%.
JCPenney plans to open its doors at 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving, shoppers can take part in a coupon giveaway were they will receive either a $10 coupon, a $100 coupon or a $500 coupon. Coupons are valid Thanksgiving through Christmas Eve (Dec. 24).
Belk is giving away a total of $1 million on Thanksgiving (starting at 4 p.m.), with one $1,000 winner in every store. On Black Friday there will be a mystery scratch-off giveaway starting at 6 a.m., worth up to $250.
Walethub also reports that Over 8% of items will be more expensive on Black Friday than they currently are on Amazon.com. Books, movies and music will offer the most value on Black Friday 2017 relative to their current prices, while jewelry, apparel and accessories are expected to be the worst deals.
33% of people plan to spend more than $500 on holiday shopping in 2017 (vs. 37% last year), according to WalletHub’s 2017 Holiday Shopping Survey.
The website BlackFriday.com with promotes itself as the authority on all things Black Friday reports that Bed Bath & Beyond is offering shoppers a coupon for 20% off your entire purchase if you shop at Bed Bath & Beyond stores between 6 a.m. and noon on Black Friday. The coupon expires at the end of the day.
Bon-Ton (which includes Bergner's, Boston Store, Carson's, Elder Beerman, Herberger's, Younkers): Free gift card to first 200 in line on Thanksgiving. Starting at 11 a.m. Gift cards will be distributed randomly and will have a value of between $5 and $500. Guaranteed $500 winner in each store.
Cabela's: The first 600 people in line (who are 18 and older) will receive an envelope with information about a free mystery gift, which could be gift cards or various products Cabela’s sells.Half Price Books: The first 100 customers through the door on Black Friday will receive a tote bag and a $5 gift card. One tote bag will have a $100 gift card.
Petco: Get a free pair of antlers for your dog or cat with purchase (using your Pals Rewards card), while supplies last on Black Friday and Saturday. In addition, on Black Friday, the first 25 customers at Petco stores will get a scratch-off that rewards a $10 gift card, a $5 gift card or a mystery gift.
Stage Stores (includes Bealls (Stage Stores), Palais Royal and Peebles): One person in line on Thursday when stores open will win a 4-ft. Teddy bear or a 30-quart Pelican cooler. The first 75 people in line will receive coupons. Two of those coupons will be worth $50 or $250, the rest will be for $10.
World Market: $10 gift certificate for the first 100 people in line on Black Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, the first 100 customers will receive a free tote bag.
