(Cincinnati) It's supporting the bid to join Major League Soccer. Mercy Health has signed a deal with FC Cincinnati to be the uniform sponsor if the club is awarded an MLS franchise.
CEO John Starcher says he went to a US Open Game this summer and couldn't help getting caught up in the excitement. He says it wasn't a difficult decision to stand behind what will hopefully be the next MLS expansion team.
Starcher says the partnership will go well beyond just putting the Mercy name and cross on the jersey. He says his company will also participate in soccer camps and health screenings for underserved communities.
