Cincinnati Mayor Won't Fire City Manager Over FOP Call

(Cincinnati, OH)  --  The mayor of Cincinnati is not firing the city manager over his late-night call to the president of the city's Fraternal Order of Police.

John Cranley released a statement yesterday just before the FOP president announced his move to file a formal grievance with the city.

On October 27th,  City Manager Harry Black called FOP president Dan Hils and was angry about Hils' attempt to delay a Citizen Complaint Authority investigation.

The investigation involved a misconduct complaint against an officer.  Black was apparently upset that Hils requested a temporary restraining order against the CCA.

The grievance says the phone call was harassment and that "Black's inappropriate comments are in violation" of the city's contract with police.
