(700 WLW)- The Highway Patrol continues their investigation after a two vehicle fatal traffic crash. The crash occurred early Tuesday evening, at approximately 5:38 on State Route 73 near mile post 23, in the City of Middletown, Butler County.
A silver 2006 Pontiac G6, operated by Alex E. Johnson, age 30, of Middletown, Ohio, was traveling east bound on State Route 73 in the west bound lanes of travel. A black 2008 Dodge Avenger, operated by Michael Lidstone, age 45, of Franklin, Ohio, was traveling west bound on State Route 73.
The preliminary investigation shows that the Pontiac G6 operated by Mr. Johnson, lost control while traveling east bound in the west bound lanes of State Route 73. The Pontiac G6 then struck the Dodge Avenger operated by Mr. Lidstone.
Mr. Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Butler County Coroner. Mr. Lidstone was transported to Miami Valley Hospital for non-life threatening injuries sustained in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol - Hamilton Post.
