Flooding Hits Tri-State After Strong Storms

(Cincinnati, OH)  --  The cleanup is underway in some Tri-State communities after strong storms swept across the region.  

National Weather Service officials say heavy rain overnight is to blame for flash flooding and several road closings.  

High winds during the day yesterday took down trees and power lines, leaving several Duke Energy customers in the dark for several hours before electric service was restored. 

While most of Ohio avoided serious damage from yesterday's storms, A tornado that touched down in western Ohio injured at least 8 people.  

The National Weather Service says an EF-1 twister clobbered Celina [[ seh-LIE-nah ]] in Mercer County. 

Eight people were injured when the tornado hit the city's business district, flattening a restaurant and a Dollar General and the Dunham’s Sporting Goods Stores while shredding the roof of a nearby factory.
