Tips to Stay Safe During Trick-Or-Treat

(Cincinnati, OH)  --  Little ghosts and goblins will be walking the streets in several Greater Cincinnati communities tonight to celebrate Halloween.

Local police are reminding drivers to be on the lookout for excited children who may dart into the street in search of candy.

Families going door to door are urged to bring a flashlight and wear reflective clothes to be more visible. Pedestrians are also reminded to only cross the street in crosswalks.

Drivers are advised to be watchful for pets and trick-or-treaters in and around cars parked on the street.

Officers will increase patrols tonight to make sure everyone stays safe and will be on the look out for impaired drivers.

AAA's  Kimberly Schwind says if your throwing a party its best to serve alternatives to alcohol, and remind guests to not get behind the wheel after they've been drinking.

Almost half of all highway fatalities on Halloween night have involved a driver who is impaired.

Police say be sure to plan a safe way home before festivities start, and remember to "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over".
