New Plan from AG for Battling the Drug Epidemic

(Columbus, Oh.)--Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine has a plan to battle the state's opioid crisis.

DeWine says 14 Ohioans die everyday from drug overdoses. He unveiled a new initiative Monday aimed at saving lives.

His 12-point plan includes passing legislation that enables the governor to declare the opioid epidemic a public health emergency, increase drug education in schools and providing law enforcement with a real-time, statewide database.

The Attorney General is also pushing for Lawsuits to be filed against the five major opioid drug makers to cover the financial toll of overdoses and addiction recovery.
