Five People Killed in Kentucky Crash

**Update 11:00 A.M.**

The Family killed in a crash Thursday afternoon have now been identified. 

Police have now identified the victims as, 27-year-old Samantha Molohn, 26-year-old Rodney Pollitt, and three children 9-year-old Haielieann, 8-year-old Brenden and 6-year-old Cailie Pollitt. 

The family were in one car that was struck when 57-year-old Daniel Gries of Independence, reportedly went left of center on Straffordsburg Road in Independence.

He was flown to U-C Medical Center for his injuries. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The Grant County School District has grief counselors on hand today to help students cope. 


**Update**

(Independence, KY)  --  Five people are dead after a crash in Kenton County.  Police say two vehicles slammed, head-on, into each other yesterday on Straffordsburg Road.  

Two adults and three children in one of the vehicles were killed, while the driver of the other vehicle was hospitalized.  

The Kenton County coroner is expected to identify the victims today.
