Cold Weather To Keep Fiona Indoors

(Cincinnati, OH)  --  Cincinnati Zoo visitors will soon have to wait until spring to see Fiona.

Zoo officials say temperatures are turning too cold for hippos to be outside, so the now-nine-month-old star attraction will be off exhibit.

Fiona and her family only go out into Hippo Cove when the temperature is above 50 degrees with Sunny skies and temperatures will be staying in the 40's all weekend.

People heading to the zoo are reminded to check the "Zoo Today" page of their website to find out if conditions are conducive to hippo viewing.

The nine month old baby hippo born six weeks premature now weighs 550 pounds.
