( CINCINNATI, OH ) -- A small group gathered at Fountain Square, across the street from Republican Representative Steve Chabot's office, to voice opposition to the new Tax Bill going through the House of Representatives.
The rally was put together by District One Indivisible and was purposely put across the street from Representative Chabot's office in hopes of convincing him to vote against the Tax Bill. The group also handed out educational fliers on the bill and encouraged others to call Representative Chabot to voice their displeasure with the bill.
Stephanie Barnard with District One Indivisible says they are increasing awareness about the Tax Bill and says that it has a lot of the same cuts proposed in the most recent Healthcare Bill that did not pass in the Senate. She says a very large tax cut would be given to millionaires and billionaires whereas only a small tax cut would come for the middle class and poorer people. Barnard says the bill would also make large cuts to Medicare and Medicaid.
