(Columbus) Ohio Governor John Kasich says he supports the measure. State Senator Cecil Thomas has introduced a bill to ban the manufacture and sale of bump stocks, making possession of the gun accessory a fourth degree felony.
Bump stocks allow a semi-automatic rifle to fire faster. A dozen of the rifles found in the Las Vegas gunman's hotel room had been modified with the attachments.
The Buckeye Firearms Association and Ohioans for Concealed Carry say the ban would be a threat to gun rights.
