Zoo: Henry Feeling Better

( Cincinnati ) - After fears his sickness was untreatable, the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden released a statement Friday saying that a new test shows Henry the hippo seems to be responding to antibiotics and treatment.

The father of baby Fiona the hippo is registering better bloodwork and kidney function. Christina Gorsuch, the Zoo's Curator of Mammals, says Henry has a way to go, yet, and "his appetite has to kick back in."

The zoo says Henry will stay inside for a bit longer for rest and treatment to continue. Fiona and her mother, Bibi, will be able to swim in the outside pool, and they'll also be able to visit Henry inside as well.
