UPDATE: Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies say 47-year-old John Smith of Madisonville killed his ex-wife early Wednesday morning outside of her apartment in Columbia Twp. They're described as being recently divorced.
The two allegedly struggled before 53-year-old Anna Smith was shot to death.
Investigators say Anna Smith tried to hide in a nearby vacant apartment, but John Smith found her, shot her multiple times, and then took his own life.

(Columbia Township) An investigation is underway after what police are calling a murder/suicide in Columbia Township.
Police found a man and woman shot to death inside a vacant apartment at the Heritage Hill Estates apartments off Wooster Pike around 5:45 this morning.
Earlier calls to 911 reported a man chasing a woman with a gun.
So far, no names have been released.
