Suspect Flees Police Crashes into Downtown Building

(Cincinnati, Oh.)--A police chase ended in Cincinnati after the suspect smashed his car into a downtown building Sunday morning.

Police say Marlon Johnson, 32, (photo below) was reportedly attempting to elude Norwood Police Department before the crash. He was headed west on West 9th Street at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop at a red light on West 9th Street and struck a vehicle in the intersection of West 9th Street and Elm Street.

Johnson’s vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, striking a light pole and a building. Police say the second vehicle driven by Jonathan Palmer III, 41, spun several times and came to rest at 213 West 9th Street.

A front seat passenger in Mr. Johnson’s vehicle, Ms. Jade Jenkins, 21, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt.

Mr. Johnson was not wearing a seat belt and is in stable condition.

Mr. Palmer was wearing a seat belt and was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is in stable condition. Excessive speed and impairment are factors in this crash.
