( Warren County ) - The prosecutor says a former law enforcement officer is now awaiting sentencing after being convicted on Monday.
44-Year-Old Douglas Gearhart of Franklin, Ohio, was found guilty of felonious assault and domestic violence by a Warren County jury. He was a Montgomery County Sheriff's deputy when the incident occurred on February 15, 2017.
The prosecutor says Gearhart assaulted his stepdaughter, grabbing her by the neck and shoving her into a door. When his wife tried to intervene, Gearhart allegedly attacked her as well, assaulting her in both the kitchen and the garage. Prosecutor David Fornshell says Gearhart then ran from the scene. Her children found her in the garage semi-conscious with serious injuries.
Gearhart is no longer a Montgomery County Sheriff's deputy.
He'll be sentenced November 15.
