Drinking Water from Ohio Headed to Puerto Rico

(Trenton, OH)  --  Thousands of cans of drinking water will be heading from Greater Cincinnati to Puerto Rico.  The MillerCoors brewery in Trenton is preparing to send 215-thousand cans of water to the island after it was hit by Hurricane Maria.

The plant has already supplied nearly 400-thousand cans of drinking water to the relief efforts for hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Meanwhile volunteers from the Red Cross in Greater Cincinnati-are on the ground in the Caribbean providing help, by running shelters and supplying food and water.

Several rural roads and streets are still impassible on the island and millions of homes and businesses are without electricity.

Red Cross is still accepting applications for volunteers to head down to Puerto Rico. The volunteers will first need to submit an application online on the Red Cross website then attend a boot-camp before heading out.
