Abducted Baby Found Safe; Police Dog Dies in Pursuit

( Forest Park, OH ) - A 1 year-old baby was found safe Monday night after being abducted in Forest Park. 

The child's mother said she was returning to her home on Kemper Meadow Drive when three men wearing masks approached her with guns. Police say the stole money and took the child. 

The suspects drove off in white Ford Explorer. A brief police persuit ended In Springfield Township when the suspects pulled over on Witherby Avenue and took off on foot. 

The baby was left in the car, and was unharmed. 

19 year-old Anquan Williams was arrested and has been charged with aggravated burglary and kidnapping.

Police are still searching for the other three men. 

During the search, a Green Township police dog who was called in to help, collapsed and was pronounced dead overnight. 

The department said that it appears his death was due to a medical event. An autopsy will be performed by the Veterinary Medical Center at the Ohio State University. 

Dino was a 7 year-old Belgian Malinois\Shepherd mix and had been with the department since 2011. 

In a statement the Green Township police department said, "He had a reputation as an outstanding police canine and very much loved his work. He will be sorely missed."
