( Cincinnati ) - Drivers will be paying more to park in the city starting this week.
Last month, a $0.25 rate increase was announced, and that increase will go into effect on parking meters this Thursday, September 21 at 3am.
A statement from the city says this is the first meter rate increase in Cincinnati neighborhoods in seven years. Rates in the Central Business District and Over-the-Rhine went up in 2015 when parking zones were created. Below is a map of how those zones will change in those areas.
Neighborhoods outside of those zones will also have drivers paying more:
- Clifton
- Corryville
- The Heights
- CUF
- East Walnut Hills
- Hyde Park
- Mt Lookout
- Northside
- Oakley
- College Hill
- O'Bryonville
- Pleasant Ridge
- Walnut Hills
The city says the increase was determined based on public feedback and should cut down on traffic and congestion.
