Firefighter Resigns Over Racial Slur

(Franklin Township, OH)  --  A Franklin Township firefighter is out of a job over a racist comment posted on social media.

Tyler Roysdon had been suspended last week after he allegedly used the N-word while saying on Facebook that he would save a dog from a fire before he would save a black person. He then used a racial slur.

Local NAACP officials had been calling for Roysdon to be fired.

A disciplinary hearing had been set for Roysdon for 7 p.m. on Sept. 27, but on Monday night the volunteer Franklin Township firefighter officially resigned.
