(700 WLW)- Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil says a serious injury crash involving a motorcycle versus a tow truck occurred in the 8900 block of Plainfield Road in Sycamore Township on Wednesday at 5:14pm.
Jackson Hanlon, male, age 19 of Cincinnati, Ohio was operating a 2012 Kawasaki motorcycle southbound in the 8900 block of Plainfield Road in the left lane of travel. Ronald Henderson Jr, male, age 51 of Amelia, Ohio was backing a 2016 Hino tow truck westbound across the travel lanes of Plainfield Road into a private drive. As Mr. Hanlon approached Mr. Henderson's tow truck which was perpendicular across the travel lanes of Plainfield Road, he attempted to avoid it by changing lanes from the left lane of travel to the right lane of travel. Mr. Hanlon was unsuccessful in this maneuver and struck the rear "fast lift" of the tow truck.
The Sycamore Township Fire Department responded to the crash scene and transported Mr. Hanlon to the University Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition. Mr. Henderson was not injured in the crash. Mr. Hanlon was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Mr. Henderson was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Speed, alcohol and or drugs of abuse are not believed to be factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Traffic Safety Unit.
