Red Cross Asking for Volunteers to Help Victims of Irma

(Orlando, FL)  --  The Red Cross is on the scene in Florida helping people cope with Hurricane Irma. Thousands of trained disaster relief workers have been mobilized and truckloads of supplies have been delivered to shelters.

The organization is urging people to download the Emergency Red Cross App.  The app includes an "I'm Safe" feature which allows people to stay connected with family members.

The Red Cross has a call out for volunteer nurses.  Medical professionals can sign up here.

Anyone who wants to make a ten-dollar donation can do it by texting the word Irma to 90999.
