( Cincinnati ) - A man is dead after a Saturday afternoon crash on the Beechmont Levee that shut down traffic for hours.
Police say traffic westbound on the Beechmont Levee had slowed because of debris in the roadway. A motorcycle driven by 62-year-old Charles Hill was approaching the traffic, and allegedly did not stop in time, striking a car from behind. Mr Hill was ejected from his bike and sustained fatal injuries. He was taken to UC Medical Center where he died. Police say he was not wearing a helmet.
The woman driving the car that was struck was not hurt. Police do not believe excessive speed or impairment played a role in the crash.
Beechmont was shut down into the late afternoon as police investigated the crash.
