(Cincinnati, OH) -- Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell has come to a decision about his starting quarterback. In what was expected, junior Hayden Moore earned the job.
The Bearcats begin the season versus Austin Peay on Thursday at Nippert Stadium.
Moore had been battling sophomore Ross Trail for the job. Moore started seven games last year were the Bearcats went 2-5 in those games, Trail started twice, with a 1-1 record.
U.C. finished the season 4–8, 1–7 in American Athletic play to finish in a three-way tie for fourth place in the East Division. For the first time since 2010, the Bearcats were not eligible for a bowl game.
The UC vs. Austin Peay game will be Thursday, Aug 31, at 7 p.m. at Nippert Stadium, the game will air 100.7 FM (The Project).
