( Warren County ) - The third trial of a Franklin man charged in the death of his son ended Friday in a unanimous verdict: guilty.
A Warren County jury convicted 32-year-old Robert Ritchie of involuntary manslaughter and child endangering in the death of his 4-year-old son, Austin Cooper, last year.
He was accused of waiting 15 hours before getting medical help for the boy after his wife told him she dipped the child's legs in scalding water as a punishment. The child had died by the time Ritchie checked on the boy. Anna Ritchie is already serving a life sentence for the boy's murder.
The verdict comes in Ritchie's third trial. The first case ended in mistrial with a deadlocked jury. The second case also saw a mistrial declaration after Ritchie got sick in court when the jury was shown pictures of his son's body.
Sentencing is pending.
