It is expected to be the most watched and most photographed solar eclipse in history. This afternoon, the moon is set to pass between the earth and the sun, completely blocking the sun from view across parts of the US.
The Cincinnati Observatory in Hyde Park is hosting a viewing party today and there is a watch party in Washington Park. Branches of the Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public libraries will be hosting parties as well with eclipse glasses available to share to safely look at the sun. The peak time in the Tristate will be about 2-30, with 91 percent of the sun being blocked. The eclipse will begin around 1 and wrap up just before 4.
