The construction work that has tied up traffic all summer on I 75 is about to come to an end. Crews have reached the final phase of the project and traffic will be restored to normal next week.
The southbound lanes of the Brent Spence Bridge will all be open by 5 a.m. Monday morning (8/21) however traffic will be restricted to a single lane Friday evening to complete the work. Northbound traffic will be restored to all four lanes on Friday August 25th. The ramps connecting SB 71 to Fort Washington Way and Downtown will also be reopening on the 25th. The maintenance work on the bridge started two months ago and has been fast tracked to minimize delays. The contractor was facing substantial fines if it did not finish on schedule.
