( CINCINNATI, OH ) -- The neighborhoods that will take part in the 2017 Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP) have been announced. The West End, Westwood, and East Westwood are the neighborhoods selected by the committee this time around.
The NEP focuses different departments together to clean up the streets and sidewalks and parking lots of neighborhoods, landscape public properties, speak with property owners and discuss how to make the neighborhoods look more livable, and identify crime hotspots and "cool them down".
Mayor John Cranley says that the program gives neighborhoods "hope", and says that every neighborhood that has gone through the program "feels that they have seen what a neighborhood can look like when everybody is working together." He says that the NEP brings about more of a "sense of community."
