MLK Jr. Interchange Open After Years of Construction

CINCINNATI - (Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017) –  The new interchange at Interstate 71 and Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive is now open.

The new $80 million interchange will help reduce congestion and improve access and new economic development opportunities within the Uptown area.

Work on the interchange at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive with Interstate 71 and various other road and intersections began in July 2014.

The new interchange will improve travel conditions for the more than 45,000 residents and 55,000 employees in the surrounding neighborhoods. It will also shorten travel times to the region’s only two Level 1 trauma centers, Children’s and University hospitals.
